Salomon XA Pro 3D
The recently released Salomon XA Pro 3D provides excellent traction, comfort and foot protection while running on trails. This superior adventure running shoe has an advanced chassis system that makes it suitable for various types of trails including rocky, muddy and wet surfaces. That is why it is one of the highly recommended shoes among trail runners who run on diverse types of terrain.
The Salomon XA Pro 3D have a brilliant upper construction with many features and innovations that enhance comfort while running. The external section of the upper is made of quick-drying mesh which helps these Salomon running shoes to dry fast if you run through water on a rainy day. This mesh, which is made of woven nylon, gives good breathability and foot protection. For proper support and comfort, Salomon has added the SensiFit technology which wraps the foot in a secure fit and cuddles it from the lace eyelets to the midsole. The Quicklace system makes it easy to put on the shoes and remove them. It consists of a resilient polyester cord that runs through 8 friction-free lace eyelets and the laces tighten evenly as you pull them.
The midsole was designed to offer both stability and comfort. That is why the XA Pro 3D has a relatively thick and well cushioned mid-section made with dual density ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) foam. EVA is also the base material for the foot bed and the injected mold because it is a tough and elastic material that can be formed into a foam with varying degrees of hardness. The EVA material also makes the XA Pro 3D more responsive and keeps your feet steady while running. In addition, the midsole has a sock liner made by joining Ortholite foam with an EVA heel cup. This sock liner improves the cushioning of the shoe and produces a soft feeling under your foot. To protect your feet, when running on rough terrain, the midsole also has a rubber toe cap.
Every part of the outsole has been designed and constructed for adventure and trail running on all kinds of surfaces. From the advanced 3D chassis that offers superior stability and protection to the Contagrip rubber sole that gives you excellent grip and traction, the shoes will serve a steady source of support and stability while running. The 3D chassis provides a relatively low profile design and it is located just above the outsole. This new technology improves motion control, makes your feet more secure, and enhances the efficient use of energy while you run. The Salomon XA Pro 3D also helps to absorb shock by reducing landing impact. Additionally, the sticky rubber of the Contagrip sole gives you both traction and grip whether you are running up a rocky mountain or you are wading through a muddy swamp.
Salomon S-Lab Sense 4 Ultra SG
If you are going to run off-road, than you need the Salomon S-Lab Sense 4 Ultra. The shoes are designed for trail uses, where you can encounter mud, gravel and other surfaces that can make your running a nightmare.
When it comes to running shoes, the most important fact is their weight. They must be light in order to eliminate the foot fatigue and to provide better performances to the runners. The Salomon S-Lab Sense 4 Ultra weigh 290 grams, which makes them incredibly light. In fact, they are one of the lightest shoes for this application on the market. Despite the weight they are made from high-quality materials, so they are durable and they offer a high level of comfort. The shoes can be worn every day for a long time, and they will still be in a great condition.
This is the latest feature when it comes to shoes designed for a specific application. In general, it keeps your feet tight but leaves enough room for the air, so there won’t be a bad odor. At the same time, this feature has a positive effect on the comfort. The toes have more free space than you can experience with other shoes, so the rash on the toes will be eliminated. With the Sense 4 Ultra you will have better mid-foot support, so they are an even better choice.
Shoes designed for tarmac don’t have to be especially focused on the level of grip they have to offer, simply due to the fact there is always enough of it. On the other side shoes designed for trail conditions must offer the highest level of grip. The Sense 4 Ultra are probably some of the best you can get. They offer a high level of grip, so running across muddy terrain is much safer and in some cases even possible (some shoes have serious problem with the level of grip they offer).
The Endo Fit was recently introduced and keeps the foot in the right position and reduces the amount of movements. This is more than need due to the fact it reduces the risk of injuries. Keep in mind that this feature is more than needed for trail shoes. On the other side, it has no negative effect on the weight of the shoes.
The OS Tendon makes the Salomon S-Lab Sense 4 Ultra comfortable and gentle. You will have the feel like you are not wearing anything. However, it makes them more resistant to the sharp objects that are a common issue when it comes to trail running.

The best feature of the Salomon X-Tour is the cushioning. It is simply the best in this price range and it offers the maximum level of comfort. Thanks to it, you are able to wear them in any condition and they will offer amazing levels of comfort. The system in question is specially designed so it absorbs all irregularities and vibrations from the ground, but it doesn’t have a negative effect to the foot position nor to the running capabilities. Thanks to this addition they can be worn in the woods, gravel roads or on a track.
All shoes must offer a high grip level. The situation is the same with the Salomon X-Tour. The grip they offer is one of the highest levels and they can offer it in all conditions, great for people with achilles tendonitis. Even if you are running in the mud, grip will be constantly with you. This feature reduces the risk of injuries and makes them more practical.
In order to make the X-Tour better than those made by the competition, the manufacturer used light weight materials. Both women’s and men’s version are lighter than 300 grams, which is in the range of far more expensive running shoes. Keep in mind that all the materials are strong, so there won’t be any damages nor issues with the quality.
The most common issue is the position of the foot while running. If it has a lot of room, the risk of injuries is higher, especially if you run outside a track. On the other side, if the foot is held strictly in place, and there is not enough of free space, the risk will be eliminated. The situation with the Salomon X-Tour is more than just good. Your feet will be in a great position, because there won’t be a lot of free room, so you will be well-protected, while running. At the same time, your feet won’t be held too tight, which has a negative effect to the level of comfort.

This has a negative effect on the foot health, due to the fact it promotes sweating and increases the risk of infection and fungus. Luckily, the Salomon XR Mission offer more room than similar running shoes. At the same time, this is a great feature that makes them even better. On the other side, they are a great choice for running on pavement, so these running shoes are versatile. Just keep in mind that they are designed for shorter and medium distances.
You already know that running creates friction. If your feet aren’t well secured in a shoe, the level of friction is simply too high. As the end result, you can get smaller injuries that can get worse over time. These shoes are different, due to the fact they have a foot bed made from special foam. As the end result, the level of friction is seriously reduced, which has a positive effect on the running time. In addition, the risk of injuries and rashes has been eliminated. Salomon SpeedCross 4
In the upper unit, the SensiFit system provides superb fit, breathability and comfort. This system combines stitched mid-foot overlays and the anti-debris mesh which permits airflow, but it does not allow dirt to come into the foot chamber. With the QuickLace system and the synthetic overlays, the shoe holds your foot firmly in place. The lacing system provides a quick way to get the best fit by tugging it and it remains in place from the beginning of your training till you take the shoe off. To keep the shoe free of odor, it has an Ortholite sock liner with anti-microbial and quick drying properties.
The midsole of this shoe is basically a thick piece of molded EVA foam. This foam serves as the main source of cushioning for the shoe and it helps to protect you against the impact of very rough surfaces and pointed objects. Since the same material covers the midsole, it increases responsiveness and helps you to have a good heel to toe transition.
Salomon’s Contagrip rubber is the main component of the outsole. It delivers impressive traction on both wet and dry surfaces. The 6mm lugs, which are shaped like arrows, give you solid grip on virtually any terrain. The arrangement of the lugs enhances multi-dimensional grip and protects your foot against the pointed objects you will frequently find on trails.
Salomon Sonic Pro
The amazing Sonic Pro is actually a neutral road sneaker from Salomon which is designed to cash in on the off-road technological enhancements of the company. You will get the Sonic Pro in as many as 4 color choices; 3 of them – orange, blue, and lime green – are quite spectacular, while the black/orange alternative is a much more modest offering. The compact midsole foam seems quite responsive and has been created for longer-lasting recovery while the blend of open as well as closed mesh upper underneath the welded overlay functions pretty well for air penetrability. This footwear weighs only 235 g. Needless to say, the traction for this road-specific footwear is much different from that of the S-LAB Speed; however, it is nonetheless possible to recognize the trail heritage accurately.
